WHAT IS SHERRY CD-ROM?
Sherry CD-ROM is a schizophrenic transsexual songwriting savant (Sherry), an autistic transsexual audio production whiz (Claire) and an experimental new form of life who lives in a digital version of Hell (CD-ROM). Together, these three unlikely stars write unseasonably intense pop music and keep posting really weird shit on social media.
Sherry CD-ROM launched in 2024 with their debut album DEMO DISC on Game Boy Advance, digitally, and on cassette tape. DEMO DISC featured songs like "Stage Dive" (reaching hundreds of thousands of listens on TikTok) and "Love Me Hard (feat. Stella Dolce)", a fan-favorite pop banger about fighting off dysphoria with hot, steamy gay sex.
In 2025, the band followed up with the tender yet firey sophomore album BEACH EPISODE on a new format: Nintendo DS cartridge. The album's biggest song, "Kaiju", propelled the band to over 1000 monthly listeners for the first time, and another song, "I Wanna Bite You", quickly became their most anticipated live request.
In a live setting, Sherry brings an earnest and sensitive touch to her piano, synth, vocals, and guitar work, while Claire uses live audio manipulation to explore the backing tracks. Songwriters at heart, the band has a notoriously intimate stage presence.
Sherry CD-ROM has played with Um Jennifer, Advance Base, 53 Thieves, and many other indie stars. Locally, they've perfomed at venues like the Roxian Theatre, the Thunderbird, and the Bottlerocket, and have toured in NYC and the Northeast. They have played at the Millvale Pride and Loud & Proud festivals.
Sherry CD-ROM recently announced their intent to remove their songs from Spotify and boycott the platform, instead focusing on Bandcamp. Sherry CD-ROM's next release will be their first on vinyl, with the help of Hellbender Vinyl.
